Are online fax services HIPAA compliant?
Some are, but availability is plan-specific. SRFax is healthcare-first — the plans we list are its HIPAA-ready tiers with a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) on request. RingCentral Fax offers HIPAA-compliant faxing, Fax.Plus requires Enterprise for HIPAA compliance and a BAA, eFax includes a signed BAA on its Business plan (and on its eFax Protect and eFax Unite products) but not on Personal, Nextiva offers HIPAA only through a separate dedicated vFAX plan rather than its standard tiers, and iFax advertises HIPAA from its Plus tier upward (not on Basic). Always verify the provider signs a BAA before transmitting protected health information.
Can I keep my existing fax number?
