Overview

SRFax is the healthcare specialist in our lineup. Where most online fax services treat HIPAA as an upsell or an enterprise conversation, SRFax leads with it: its healthcare plans are presented as HIPAA-ready, a Business Associate Agreement is available on request, and the company also points Canadian practices at PHIPA-friendly workflows. SRFax lists phone-based support located in British Columbia, Canada.

The plans we publish in our comparison are SRFax’s healthcare tiers, verified on SRFax’s own plan builder: Healthcare Lite at $12.60/month for 200 pages, Healthcare Basic at $16.05/month for 500, Healthcare Basic Plus at $22.95/month for 800, and Healthcare Standard at $41.35/month for 1,500, with larger tiers above that for clinic- and hospital-scale volumes. SRFax also sells standard small-business plans — its materials list them from $9.95/month for 200 pages — but their prices don’t currently render on the individual plan pages themselves, so we publish the healthcare lineup we could fully verify and note the standard tiers here in prose. One limitation to know upfront: SRFax accounts are sold for businesses in the United States and Canada.

Sending and Receiving Faxes

SRFax covers the classic online-fax workflow: send and receive by email (TIFF and PDF attachments, multi-page supported), through the web application, or from a mobile browser — there is no dedicated mobile app. Every account comes with a local or toll-free number, available across all 50 U.S. states and all of Canada, and additional numbers cost $4.95 each. Porting an existing fax number in is free, and SRFax provides a portability-check tool before you commit.

International sending is supported at per-destination rates published on SRFax’s international-rates page — the rates vary by country, so check yours before relying on heavy international volume.

Features and Compliance

Compliance is the product. SRFax states that transmissions on its healthcare plans are HIPAA-compliant and aligned with relevant Canadian privacy legislation, and the BAA — the document regulated teams actually need — is requested directly through the site. For developers, SRFax publishes a fax API with downloadable client classes, and its healthcare pages advertise API integration into practice systems.

What you won’t find: a built-in e-signature tool, or a native phone app. Extra-page costs also vary by plan and aren’t uniformly published on the current site — SRFax’s plan builder estimates overage per plan, so confirm your tier’s exact terms during signup.

Pricing

The healthcare ladder runs $12.60 (200 pages) → $16.05 (500) → $22.95 (800) → $41.35 (1,500) per month, scaling well beyond that for high-volume clinics — SRFax’s materials list healthcare tiers up to 20,000 pages/month. SRFax’s materials also advertise a 15% saving for annual prepayment; the plan-builder prices we verified are presented as monthly rates. SRFax advertises cancel-anytime with no questions asked. The standard small-business plans (listed from $9.95/month in SRFax’s materials) remain available for teams that don’t need the healthcare compliance layer; we’re confirming their current rendered pricing.

Who Should Choose SRFax?

Choose SRFax if a BAA is non-negotiable: medical, dental, veterinary, and allied-health practices get HIPAA-ready faxing from $12.60/month — compare Fax.Plus, where HIPAA requires the $99.99/month Enterprise plan, or Nextiva, where it’s a separate contact-sales product. SRFax also lists phone-based support for teams that prefer calling over tickets. Look elsewhere if you’re outside the U.S. and Canada, want a polished native app, or need built-in e-signatures.
