Fax.Plus Review

Research-first review. This review is based on verified Fax.Plus and Alohi documentation and rendered pricing pages — not on our own hands-on use. This review (including its provisional rating) will be updated if and when we complete hands-on testing.

Overview

Fax.Plus is the online fax service from Alohi, a Geneva-based Swiss company founded in 2016; Fax.Plus itself launched publicly in 2017. Alohi’s own materials describe a family of four products — Sign.Plus, Fax.Plus, Scan.Plus, and Dial.Plus — serving over 5 million users, with ISO 27001 certification and SOC 2 compliance reported since 2021 and local data-residency options since 2020. (Those figures and attestations are Alohi’s statements; we haven’t independently audited them.)

On price, the value case is simple: Basic costs $8.99/month on month-to-month billing for 200 pages — the lowest paid entry price in our lineup. Annual prepayment lowers the advertised effective rates to $6.99 for Basic, $13.99 for Premium, $27.99 for Business, and $79.99 for Enterprise; the corresponding month-to-month rates are $8.99, $17.99, $34.99, and $99.99 (all re-verified on the live pricing page, September 4, 2026 — porting and toll-free tiers verified on the same page’s plan cards).

The important caveat is unchanged: HIPAA compliance is not included on Basic. Fax.Plus offers HIPAA compliance and a Business Associate Agreement only on Enterprise.

Plans: What Moves You Up a Tier

Every plan includes email-to-fax, the mobile app, unlimited fax storage, and multi-recipient sending. The tier ladder adds capability rather than just pages:

• Basic ($8.99/month, 200 pages): one number, one member, $0.10 per extra page, and a 60-page cap per single fax.
• Premium ($17.99/month, 500 pages): adds number porting and toll-free numbers, plus CSV fax-log export and the option to switch off reception; single faxes up to 90 pages.
• Business ($34.99/month, 1,000 pages): adds team setup, an admin console, Slack integration, and multi-number management.
• Enterprise ($99.99/month month-to-month or $79.99/month billed annually): adds HIPAA with a signed BAA, single sign-on, the Fax.Plus API, data residency, and Zapier — with unlimited members, so that amount is not a per-user charge.

Worth calling out because we previously reported otherwise: Fax.Plus now documents number porting, starting on the Premium plan. If you’re bringing an existing fax number, budget for Premium rather than Basic.

Sending and Receiving Faxes

Sending works from the web dashboard, the mobile app, or email. For email-to-fax, you send to the full destination number followed by @fax.plus from your account email address, after enabling Email to Fax in the profile settings (details in our email-to-fax guide); Fax.Plus emails a delivery confirmation when the fax completes. Received faxes come via email notification with a link to the secure portal, and can also be configured as direct PDF attachments.

Mobile Experience

Fax.Plus documents camera scanning with automatic edge detection in its iPhone app, and its mobile apps support the full send/receive workflow on iOS and Android.

HIPAA and Sign.Plus Integration

Fax.Plus can support e-signature workflows through Sign.Plus integration on paid tiers (each paid plan card currently shows a 30-day Sign.Plus trial). That is useful if your team prepares documents for signature before sending them by fax, but it should be understood as an integration with Alohi’s separate e-signature product rather than a bundled Basic-plan e-signature suite.

HIPAA is Enterprise-only, and the configuration is specific (per Fax.Plus’s HIPAA documentation, verified September 4, 2026): you activate Advanced Security Controls, sign the BAA, and — for email-to-fax — use the dedicated TLS-enforcing @tls.fax.plus address rather than the standard one. In HIPAA mode, incoming faxes are delivered to email as notifications without the file attachment; you open the fax in the portal. Fax.Plus states data is encrypted with AES-256 at rest and TLS in transit, and it references Canada’s PHIPA alongside HIPAA. Medical practices and other regulated teams should budget for Enterprise instead of assuming the entry plan is compliant.

The Free Tier

Fax.Plus offers 10 free pages total (not monthly) to try the service. It’s enough to verify it works for you, but not a sustainable free plan.

Who Should Choose Fax.Plus?

Fax.Plus suits light users looking for a low month-to-month entry price. Choose Basic if $8.99/month for 200 pages, email-to-fax, unlimited storage, and Sign.Plus integration cover your needs; step up to Premium if you need number porting or a toll-free number; and treat Enterprise as the HIPAA tier.
