Overview

RingCentral Fax is part of the broader RingCentral communications platform, but it also works as a standalone fax service. Fax 3000 includes 3,000 pages per user each month at $22.99/user/month when billed annually.

The pages-per-dollar case is unusually strong: Fax 3000 works out to about $0.0077 per included page at its annual-billing rate, while Fax.Plus Basic is about $0.045 per included page month-to-month. Fax.Plus therefore costs about 5.9 times as much per included page for teams that can use RingCentral’s volume.

Sending and Receiving Faxes

RingCentral offers a clean web portal for faxing, plus email-to-fax that works with any email client. The web interface is notably more modern than eFax, with a straightforward compose flow. You can fax documents in PDF, Word, Excel, and several image formats.

Received faxes arrive via email and are stored in the web portal with search and tagging capabilities.

HIPAA Compliance

The current evidence comes in two exact names, and both matter. On the plan side, the pricing data behind RingCentral’s fax page lists “Supports HIPAA compliance” among Fax 3000’s plan features. On the service side, RingCentral’s current RingCentral and HIPAA document (March 2026) names RingCentral Fax among the services covered by the RingCentral BAA, which RingCentral makes available to paying Covered Entity customers, and the published customer BAA template lists RingCentral Fax in its Annex A of covered services, if purchased.

A subscription alone makes no one HIPAA compliant, though. To use Fax 3000 for protected health information (PHI), your organization needs to execute the BAA, confirm the exact purchased service matches a covered name, and run its own safeguards. One boundary comes straight from the template: customer integrations that transfer data to or from the service — its examples are third-party communication channels, email among them — sit outside the BAA’s scope, and under the same template the customer agrees to notify patients that email transmission is not secure and obtain their consent before transmitting PHI by email as part of the services. Pricing Details

Pricing is per user, so team size matters. A 5-person team running Fax 3000 on annual billing pays $114.95/month for 15,000 included pages. Annual billing locks in the $22.99/user/month rate; month-to-month is $27.99/user/month, a roughly 22% premium for flexibility.

Teams that also need business phone, messaging, and video should look at RingCentral Advanced instead. It starts at $25/user/month on annual billing ($35 month-to-month) and includes unlimited internet fax as part of the broader communications bundle. More broadly, all RingEX tiers (Core at $20/$30, Advanced at $25/$35, Ultra at $35/$45, Customer Engagement Bundle by quote) include online fax as a standard channel; Advanced and above add unlimited fax volume.
